Meet the caller, Jerome Grisanti
Jerome Grisanti, a native of Louisville Kentucky, has called dances through much of the Midwestern US. Jerome has been calling contra and square dances since 2001. He learned Italian folk dancing in the late 1970s and took on leadership roles even as a youngster. In 1999, he was introduced to contra dancing, a love affair that continues to this day. He also enjoys square dancing, English country dancing and early American historical dancing.
Jerome is known for his enthusiasm, distinctive voice and clear teaching. Over the years he has learned the nuances of calling for populations ranging from back-yard parties to dance weekends. His goal at all times is to get people moving, interacting and smiling as quickly as possible. In the past few years he has added many patter squares and singing squares to his repertoire. He has increased his opportunities for calling English Country Dances by co-founding (with Jill Allen) the Lawrence English Country Dancers, Lawrence, Kansas, in January 2009.

Meet the band, Ladies At Play
Ladies at Play has been performing for regional English Country dances since 2008. The members are Miranda Arana (flute), Shanda McDonald (violin), Kathy Dagg (guitar, bouzouki, mandolin), and Julia Harris (piano & viola). Miranda lives in Norman, teaches world music at the University of Oklahoma, and performs Irish, Middle Eastern, Latin American, Eastern European, and Vietnamese music. Her playful spirit and passion are an integral part of the Ladies at Play style. Shanda lives in Shawnee and manages an insurance office by day. As a master seamstress, creative chef, and adventuresome musician, she adds spice, elegance, and cosmic energy to the quartet. Kathy Dagg is a medical specialist with her own practice in Norman. Gifted not only in art and humor, she has unique abilities in the rhythm department as well. In addition to being adept playing DADGAD guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, and tenor banjo, she keeps the rest of “The Ladies” grounded and sensible (ha ha!). Julia, from Tulsa, is a master pianist and violist who performs and teaches privately. The depth and breadth of her knowledge and experience with European classical and folk music genres is beautifully and artfully woven into the fabric of the overall sound of this dynamic and joyous quartet.
